After a wave of public comments and increasing community pressure, a public hearing on Silfab’s wastewater discharge permit has been scheduled. Initially, Rock Hill and the Department of Environmental Services (DES) tried to rush this permit through without a hearing. Thanks to your efforts, we’ve forced it into the light.
Now, we need you to show up.
Despite giving only 2 weeks’ notice (instead of the required 30 days) and scheduling it during a workday the week of July 4th, we have a chance to speak directly to decision-makers—and we must make it count.
Silfab’s permit would allow the discharge of waste from highly toxic manufacturing processes into our community infrastructure. Your voice is critical to stopping this from moving forward.
