Fort Mill residents are gathering for a Move Silfab Community Protest following two chemical incidents this week at the Silfab facility.


On Tuesday, more than 300 gallons of Potassium Hydroxide spilled at the facility.


Then, officials responded to a leak involving Hydrofluoric Acid, a highly corrosive chemical that can be deadly upon exposure.


These back-to-back incidents have raised serious concerns for families living and working near the facility, especially with schools and neighborhoods located nearby.


The purpose of this protest is simple: Silfab should be moved to a properly zoned heavy industrial location away from our schools, homes, and neighborhoods.
