Right now — TODAY — 40,000 residents in Garden Grove, California are under MANDATORY EVACUATION orders. Families are sleeping in emergency shelters. One shelter is already FULL. People cannot go home.
Fire officials have admitted they are at a complete LOSS. Orange County Fire Authority Division Chief Craig Covey said it himself:
"This is not precautionary… this thing is going to fail, and we don't know when. There are literally two options left remaining. One, the tank fails and spills 6,000 to 7,000 gallons of very bad chemicals into the surrounding community. Or two, the tank goes into thermal runaway and blows up."
Not IF. WHEN.
This morning, aerial cameras spotted the tank beginning to PEEL OPEN.
Here's what's already happened at Silfab Solar right here in our backyard:
March 3, 2026 — Silfab spills up to 1,500 gallons (later claimed 300) of Potassium Hydroxide. HAZMAT was called.
March 5, 2026 — A SECOND spill. This time: HYDROFLUORIC ACID (HF) — one of the most dangerous chemicals on earth. Silfab knew about the HF leak on February 27th and HID IT FROM THE PUBLIC FOR SIX DAYS. Flint Hill Elementary School — less than 1,000 feet away — was forced to CLOSE to protect the children and staff.
Fort Mill residents are done being gaslit.
Silfab plans to store MORE THAN 500,000 POUNDS of hazardous chemicals — including 26,456 pounds of silane, 15,850 gallons of hydrofluoric acid, 22,000 lbs of anhydrous ammonia, trimethylaluminum, and phosphorus oxychloride (among others) — within ONE MILE of 12 schools and daycares. There are ZERO emergency evacuation plans for those schools.
52,415 Fort Mill residents live within three miles of this site.
EMORY UNIVERSITY pediatric health experts — funded by the EPA and CDC — warned officials in February 2025. County officials did nothing.
There is a PIVOTAL COURT HEARING THIS TUESDAY challenging Silfab's zoning. Citizens Alliance for Government Integrity (CAGI) has taken this fight to the Supreme Court of the United States.
The people of Garden Grove didn't get a warning.
They got evacuation orders, shelter cots, and a chemical tank peeling open.
Fort Mill still has a chance. THAT is why we will not stop.
Together, we will Move Silfab.
